The State of Mississippi recently had to remove ALL of theirs. There was so much opposition to them. There’s a lot of legal challenges to them, as well.
A Company called “Traffic Solutions” takes a picture of car in red light, and mails the ticket to the OWNER of the vehicle, NOT the driver.
I understand that Traffic Solutions will typically install the cameras @ their own expense, and gets half of the proceeds.
A radio show that is broadcast statewide got onto the the issue, and talked it up. It was a very common subject, and the callers were livid about them.
If Tennessee and other state’s could follow this lead, I think public sentiment will be swung in our favor.
They aren’t popular

The next agenda item for them should be getting rid of emissions tests. That may have to be a county level fight but its been done in KY. 97% of all tested cars pass the test and newer cars have to meet the same exact standards before they are released to the market.

This is awesome! I haven’t seen any other organized action to stop these red light cameras. Most I talk to don’t see the harm. Police seem to feel it helps them determine who is at fault in accidents, and they like them. Does no one ever put on their thinking caps anymore?

They are a dangerous precedent to pave the way for more intrusion and control over our private lives. They must be stopped now! Kudos for starting this and I will try to get others on board.

I have compiled the data from 2003 to 2008 intersections accidents. The data shows that accidents have increased at every intersection equipped with the Redflex cameras including t-bone crashes. Anyone who claims otherwise either has not looked at the data or they are ignoring the facts. You can download and view the data here, I have included my sources.
